Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Remindbnb ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and mobile application (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Service.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information you choose to provide.

Calendar Data

To generate reminders, we collect:

  • iCal calendar URLs you provide to sync your Airbnb or Vrbo bookings
  • Booking dates and times extracted from your calendar
  • Property-related metadata necessary for reminder generation

We never access your Airbnb or Vrbo account directly. We only read the public iCal calendar link you provide. We cannot see guest names, contact information, or booking amounts.

Beta Signup Information

If you sign up for our beta list through the website, we collect your email address, number of listings, and any optional notes you provide.

Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including:

  • App interactions and feature usage
  • Device information (type, operating system, app version)
  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps)

This information helps us improve the Service and troubleshoot issues.

We collect crash and diagnostic information to identify and fix technical issues. This may include error details, stack traces, app and device information, app version, operating-system information, breadcrumbs, and an account identifier. We use Sentry for crash and error reporting.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Generate and deliver reminders based on your calendar and preferences
  • Sync your calendar data to keep reminders up to date
  • Improve and optimize the Service, including analytics and troubleshooting
  • Provide customer support
  • Send service-related communications, such as account, security, and reminder-related messages
  • Send product updates, onboarding and re-engagement messages, and feature announcements
  • Send promotional and win-back communications about Remindbnb
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We may use your contact information (such as your email address) and account identifiers (such as your user ID) for the purposes above. We do not use this information for third-party advertising.

Communications and Marketing

We send two kinds of messages:

  • Service communications: account, security, and reminder-related messages necessary to operate the Service. These are not promotional, and you cannot opt out of them while you have an active account.
  • Product and promotional communications: onboarding and re-engagement messages, feature announcements, product updates, and occasional promotional or win-back offers about Remindbnb.

These messages come from us and are about Remindbnb only. We do not sell your personal information, we do not display third-party advertisements, and we do not share your data with third-party advertising networks for cross-app tracking.

You can opt out of product and promotional communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in those messages or by contacting support@remindbnb.com. Opting out does not affect service communications.

Notifications

Remindbnb sends push notifications and calendar events based on your reminder configuration.

Notification delivery depends on third-party services including Apple Push Notification service and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Due to factors outside our control, notification delivery is not guaranteed. Your device settings, network connectivity, and third-party service availability may affect delivery.

Purchases and Subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage subscription status. We receive information about your purchase and subscription status, but we do not receive or store your full payment card information.

If you delete your Remindbnb account, subscription-management data associated with your Remindbnb account and maintained through RevenueCat is deleted as part of that process. Apple and Google may retain their own transaction and purchase records in accordance with their policies and applicable law.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third-party advertising networks for cross-app tracking.

We may share your information with third parties only in the following circumstances:

  • Infrastructure Providers: Cloud hosting and database services that help us operate the Service (e.g., Firebase)
  • Notification Services: Services that deliver push notifications to your device
  • Purchase and Subscription Services: Services that validate purchases and manage subscription status (e.g., RevenueCat)
  • Crash Reporting: Services that help us identify and fix technical issues (e.g., Sentry)
  • Analytics Tools: Services that help us understand how the Service is used (if applicable)
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law or in response to valid legal requests

These providers are only given access to information necessary to perform their functions and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.

You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time, either in the app or by contacting us. See Delete Account for how to do this.

When you delete your account, we delete your account and the data associated with it, including, as applicable:

  • Account information
  • Property and listing data
  • Reminders
  • Bookings
  • Connected calendars and calendar feed data
  • Push notification registration data
  • Subscription-management data associated with your Remindbnb account

Historical crash and diagnostic records may not be automatically removed as part of standard account deletion. Such records are handled in accordance with applicable law and our service providers' retention practices. Apple and Google may retain their own purchase records, as described under Purchases and Subscriptions.

We process deletion requests in accordance with applicable law. Some limited information may be retained where necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory purposes.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or destruction. This includes encryption of data in transit and at rest, regular security reviews, and limited access to personal information.

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time

Third-Party Services

Remindbnb integrates with and depends on third-party platforms including Airbnb, Vrbo, Apple, and Google.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies. Your use of any third-party service is subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy.

Cookies

Our website uses minimal cookies for essential functionality, such as remembering your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect website functionality.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
